Hoards found in Dorset

Dorchester
The Dorchester Hoard, found in 1936. 22,000 coins found in three Roman vessels.

One of the largest hoards of Bronze Age axes found in the UK discovered here in 2007. Over 300 axes

Okeford Fitzpaine
Hoard of silver Celtic coins found here in 1753. A second hoard was found at the same location in 1788

Fifehead Neville
Hoard of Roman Jewellery found here in 1902.

Hanford
Hoard of Roman coins found here in 1860.

Poole
Turlin Moor Meadow, several hoards of roman coins were found here in between 1833 and 1930.
